I'm not as fearless as her, so I might end up, if she took any of my advice, she might end up destroying her agency.
- What advice would I give Duke?
How would you like me to react?
- Well, at least I did the decent thing to tell you myself, rather than you reading it in Sinclair's rag.
- The decent thing was not to lie to me in the first place.
- There's nothing you can say that I haven't already said to myself.
- Well, I'm quite sure that there is.
In all honesty, I don't think I can give Duke any advice.
I think he needs to give me advice in life.
If I'd known what an appalling nurse you were, I wouldn't agreed to convalesce here.
- If I'd known what a demanding patient you are, I wouldn't have let you.
- For a man in the Victorian time, I think he pushes the boundaries in the right way.
I think he questions in the right place, and I think he doesn't conform in the right ways.
Perhaps this this case can give you some more sway with the home office.
After all it's for their sake that we're staying quiet.
Yeah, he should be giving me advice.
- Mr. Potts.
- Oh, Ms. Scarlet.
If I had to give advice to my character, it would just be do a mindfulness course.
- I do wish you would calm down, Barnabas.
All this stress and strain will wreak havoc on your blood pressure.
- Chill out, have a beer.
- Ah, yes, I know what we agreed.
Yes, I know my presence irks you so.
- Buy some nice pretty cushions and stop thinking about the mortuary.
- Which I think still honors the spirit of our agreement, does it not?
- No, it does not.
- What advice would I give to Phelps?
Hurry up, you useless vermin.
We haven't got all day.
I probably wouldn't dare to advise him to his face.
I would say that maybe he should sometimes think before he speaks.
Driver, detective, and now an amateur doctor.
How efficient you are, Ms. Scarlet.
- You wish to talk of efficiency, Detective Phelps, when it took over an hour for the first constable to arrive.
- He's very impulsive and very passionate, which is great, but I think he can get himself into trouble unnecessarily sometimes by just speaking a bit too quickly.
So maybe a bit of self-reflection once in a while wouldn't go amiss, but as I say, I would never say that to his face.
- I'd say keep doing what you're doing, woman.
Keep learning, keep educating yourself.
Keep the heart open.
Keep having the fun, keep feeding and loving the people around you because I think Ivy's really happy.
- The number one piece of advice would probably be to listen to Eliza.
- 2,512 telephones in operation in London.
- How do you know these things?
- I do research, Patrick, you should try it sometime.
