For the 18th year a Chinese New Year Parade and Festival took place in Fresno’s Chinatown. This year is the Year of the Dog and is the only parade of its kind in the Central Valley. Fresno’s Chinatown has been a multi-ethnic neighborhood since it was first developed in the late 1880s. The aging community relies on a group of supporters to put on the yearly festival and revitalization efforts.
