Why some educators and students are upset CPS is replacing a magnet arts program.
Chicago Public Schools is set to replace a long-running magnet arts program for high schoolers. The Advanced Arts Program will now be known as REALIZE, and see students earn credit at City Colleges. The district says it's a needed evolution and an opportunity for college and career readiness. But critics say the reduced course offerings and changes in structure are a disservice to students.
