Hi, my name is Lisetty Llampalla from Doce Provisions.
My husband and I, we are local.
So we live on the area and what a better place to open the first restaurant in Little Havana.
I'm from Cuba.
Soy Cubana, so.
We put the menu together.
He have his ideas.
I have mines.
He's from here.
I'm from Cuba.
So mix the ingredients.
I love my neighborhood.
The menu is really, really good.
Chorizo Croquettes Masa de Puerco Chino is amazing.
Imperial rice.
Birria tacos.
I love food that encouraged me to create new dishes.
Cooking, I believe that increase my creativity.
The kitchen is actually the place I can express myself.
Doce Provision is a hidden gem.
In little Havana with the great food a great ambience great vibe like you feel like home.
So Doce Provisions, obviously 12 doce, Correct.
Right.
provisions.
What would people expect when they walk in here?
Because it's very surprising, right?
Yes.
It's actually a place in a very busy street in little Havana.
So you will never expect a restaurant like this in the middle of the traffic in Little Havana.
Like a hidden Oasis almost right?
Yes.
So when you first come into the restaurant, it's very small, maybe not impressive but when you go to the outdoor area, you're in an island.
It's almost like a Caribbean feeling.
You're agreeing with her?
Yeah.
Yeah.
A lot of green plants and very lighting flair.
My friends thought that they said they felt like they were on vacation somewhere on a tropical island.
Wow.
The patio has cool reggae music and big plants and we had a very nice breezy night.
I thought so too.
And when I got there, the storefront had a tiny little sign and it looked like a grocery store.
And I go inside with my wife and I said, I had a reservation.
It's a good thing there's like two tables and an open kitchen, and she takes us on this trail to go to the back, and the back was fabulous.
So let's jump into the food, shall we?
So tell me what you had this last time.
I had a margarita, but it was not really a margarita.
They used something else because it wasn't really a hundred percent alcohol.
They basically are a beer So it's a mocktail.
or wine.
Oh.
But they call it Margarita.
Okay.
Yep, I get that.
They was good, it was different different cocktails.
And we order the Birrias de Res Quesatacos.
which is basically almost like a taco filled with ropa vieja and almost toasted.
You wanna tell them what ropa vieja is?
Not everybody knows what rapa vieja is, sorry.
Ropa vieja is shredded meat, Cuban shreaded meat.
Cooked until there's nothing almost.
Exactly the juices that you get out of ropa vieja are to die for.
And in this little taco toasted and the portion was so generous that, that can be your main dish easily.
What else did you have?
I had the Mahi-mahi with the jasmine rice and it had like jello Aji Amarillo Sauce on top.
My boyfriend order Masa de Puerco.
It's almost like a Chinese rice with fried pork and a little bit of heat that also had like fried Brussels sprouts.
Delicious.
And then we ordered the Coconut Rum Tres Leches.
The presentation was so cute you didn't wanna touch that dessert.
And it was so ama, I mean, we were so satisfied.
Steven, what did you have?
We started with this Sangria.
The red Sangria, they put blackberries in it.
It was a blackberry.
And I had the white Sangria with passion fruit and they were both delicious drinks.
And then we had the Croquettes with I don't know what kind of meat was in there.
Croquette with Chorizo in it.
That's right.
Yes.
Terrific they did have Chorizo.
Yes.
And then we had these Asianic buns, I forget the name.
Oh, Lechon Asado Buns.
Yes.
They were with pork.
Pork buns.
They were fabulous.
And we also had the mahi.
Oh yeah.
Okay.
And then the dessert we had the Flan and the Tres Leches Cake, which was in Also the same probably.
Is there only one Tres Leches Cake, do you know?
No, they have the Flan.
This was the Coconut Tres Leches.
Oh, so you had the same one.
They had the same one.
Okay.
Yes.
Yes, nice.
Well, the waitress suggested that and she was right on.
It's a treasure.
That place is fabulous.
And how about you?
We also ordered the Croquettes and the Birria Tacos as appetizers.
Thought they were both fantastic.
And then as our entrees, we ordered the mixed grill which has Chorizo, Churrasco steak, grilled Shrimp, a couple different things.
And then we ordered a serving of the Imperial rice.
Oh, Arroz Imperial.
They serve it in a cast iron skillet.
And then they have, it's covered with cheese and the cheese is very golden and crispy at the edges.
It was so good.
And there were three of us, and that was plenty of food for the three of us along with leftovers to take home, so.
It's great.
Service, I would imagine is just lovely.
Right.
We had reservations.
We went during the day because I wanted to see the garden.
Ah.
Ah.
I we went It was like a late lunch.
It was wonderful.
Well Yvonne Doce Provisions was your pick.
Sum it up for me, please.
It's a perfect place to bring your friends that come in, out of town and I'm a hundred percent sure you're gonna enjoy their food on their menu.

They're open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner.
Reservations are accepted where the average price for dinner without drinks is about $45.
