With 4-H we're really big on hands on learning.

Hi.

My name is Tracey Anderson.

And I am the extension educator for 4-H youth development with Lake County 4-H.

And we are here at the Lake County Fair.

So 4-H is a youth development organization, and it's part of the University of Minnesota, and we have programs in all 87 counties here in Minnesota.

And it's really an opportunity for young people to learn different things, find what areas they're interested in.

I'm Amaris and I'm here with Lake County 4-H.

It's really easy to just, place anywhere.

You can make it smaller, too, and add it into your home.

Amaris has done she's been really involved in a lot of areas, and we've been talking about she's done a lot of different project areas, but she's really, really found a passion with the, plant science and agricultural technology, area.

And so this is the third year she's made a, plant tower.

You can't see it too well, but there's a pump right about inside of there.

And then it's connected to this tube, which flows from the top into the clear pipe or a PVC pipe up here, and it flows down into each, tube to, have the water.

And then the water just flows into it slightly and the water just keeps flowing until it goes down and up again.

We want our young people in 4-H to be beyond ready, you know, when you leave, you know, high school or 4-H years, what else is out there?

How can we prepare you in 4-H to be beyond ready?

It's very important to just make sure whenever you're planting anything to keep a close eye to notice, if anything, like any diseases or nutrient deficiencies are wrong with your plant.

What are some areas that, can be your personal passion that might be a hobby, but also that may be a career in the future.
