Ghost Dancers tells the history of the Ghost Dance Movement.

By the winter of 1899-1890, the Lakotah’s pain had become too great to endure, and they began to give credence to a rumor about an Indian Holy Man who lived in Nevada—far to the West. He was known as Wovoka and many called him “The Messiah." Wovoka told his followers that, if performed correctly, the Indians’ old way of life would be restored and the buffalo would return.
