Sen. Bob Menendez was previously indicted in 2015

Supporters cheered Sen. Bob Menendez after he was indicted in 2015. And fellow Democrats expressed solidarity with the senior New Jersey senator, who faced corruption charges for helping his longtime friend Dr. Salomon Melgen in exchange for trips and gifts. Back then, he asked New Jerseyans to "...remember — prosecutors get it wrong. Sadly, I know that." Menendez made the same argument on Monday.
