Meet the woman whose business acumen and charity has benefited the Spokane community.

Miss Myrtle Woldson was a very successful Spokane businesswomen and philanthropist during a time when business was considered a man’s world. She began building her fortune in the 1950s by buying Havermale Island in the center of the Spokane, before Expo74, when it was still covered by railroad tracks and warehouses. Investing wisely, she gave away most of her wealth to the community she loved.
