the fight between the state's government Watchdog agency and Hudson County is escalating the New Jersey comptroller is suing the county for ignoring an order given not to move forward with a $13 million Health Care contract at the county jail now according to an investigation by the comptroller the county never put the contract out for public bid that's a violation of state law but after warning officials at the county jail back in March State comptroller Kevin Walsh says Hudson County moved forward with deal anyway County Representatives though dispute the comptroller's investigation saying health care contracts can't go out for bidding like other public deals in the wake of the comptroller's directive and separate scathing reports exposing misconduct and waste in three other counties local officials across the state began calling for an investigation into the Watchdog agency itself claiming it needs more oversight [Music]
