The Chicago Teachers Union has elected a new president: Stacy Davis Gates. The winning Caucus of Rank-and-File Educators or CORE Caucus secured 56% of the vote. The Members First caucus came in with 27%, and the REAL caucus with 17%. Davis-Gates will be moving up from her position as vice president when current president Jesse Sharkey steps down July 1.
