Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- Good morning, dear, sweet, beautiful, brilliant students of Arkansas.
Ooh, it is raining cats and dogs outside.
Have you looked outside today?
Do you know what the weather is like?
Do you know what it's gonna be like tomorrow, or the day after?
Well, you would if you watched or read the weather forecast for the week.
Knowing the weather forecast allows us to make plans and pick the correct clothes for the day.
A weather forecast tells you what type of weather might be expected or might be coming.
Today, we're going to investigate... (gentle music) A weather forecast and make some plans.
So, if we're gonna plan a picnic for some friends, what would be the best day to pick?
Think about what type of weather is best for a picnic.
Yes, I agree.
Thursday does seem like the best day, because it's sunny and warm.
Another day could be Tuesday.
Even though it's cloudy, it doesn't mention rain.
Okay, so let's look at Wednesday.
It says rainy and warm.
What are some outfit choices we need to have on Wednesday?
I don't know why I even ask you all these questions, because you are always on point.
You're right, you would need some rain boots, maybe this jacket that I'm wearing, or even the umbrella.
All of these are excellent outfit choices.
Are there any other days this outfit would work for?
If we look back at the forecast, it says we might have rain on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so an outfit like Wednesday's outfit would work on Monday and Friday as well.
I challenge you to watch the weather forecast for the next couple of days, then draw a picture of what it is supposed to look like each day.
Then, plan your outfits and activities based on the forecast.
As for right now, I don't know what the weather is like wherever you are, but here it is raining, and I heard that rainy days are the best days to go fishing, so I'm gonna grab my fishing pole and head out to the lake.
I hope to catch a big one.
Wish me luck.
See you next time.
