This is Ginger and the "Vegesaurs"!

(gentle music) (distant animal sounds) (Ginger sniffs) - Not far now.

(Peas sniff) (gentle music) I've got a treat for you.

Today is a special day.

- [Peas] Ah!

- [Narrator] It's the Sunday roast, the day Potatodons bathe in mineral rich springs and stretch out to dry on volcanic rocks, leaving their fins hot, crispy, salty, and delicious.

- You haven't lived until you've licked a hot fin.

(Peas slurping and moaning) But if we wanna get close, we we'll need a- (Peas panting) Plan.

Wait for me.

- [Narrator] The salt covering them is high in essential minerals and irresistibly delicious to a variety of vegesaurs.

But Potatodons are low in patience.

(suspenseful music) (Bananaraptors groan) (Peas laugh) - And that's why we need a plan.

(Peas speaking gibberish) Okay, plan is act like you are one of them.

(suspenseful music) (footsteps thud) (Pea groans) You're right.

You are a little small.

(transition chimes play) (Ginger pants) (Peas laugh) - Shh.

- [Narrator] And this clever impersonation might just get past them.

(footsteps echo) (suspenseful music continues) - I think it's working.

(Peas whoosh) (Peas speaking gibberish) (whimsical music) Get down.

(Potatodon groans) Hi, we were just leaving.

(Peas and Ginger groan) Oh, ow.

Where's Wasabi?

(Wasabi speaks gibberish) Wasabi, wait!

- [Narrator] This resourceful young Pea Rex has found a way to protect its feet from the heat.

(Pea groans) (Potatodon sizzles) (Peas groan) - I don't believe it.

- [Narrator] But the same can't be said about its tongue as a Potatodon fin reaches blistering temperatures in the midday sun.

(Potatodon groans) (Wasabi giggles) (slide whistle plays) (Wasabi thuds) (Wasabi groans) (Potatodons groan) (Potatodons thud) - I think I know how we can get a nice salty treat after all.

(suspenseful music) (Potatodons groan) - [Narrator] Potatodons are easily provoked into a challenge.

(Potatodons groaning) The aim of a challenge is simple, to dislodge the other's fin.

- Wow.

(suspenseful music continues) (Potatodons thud) (fins crackle) (suspenseful music continue) (fins crackle) - [Narrator] Thankfully, their fins will grow back, but in the meantime, it's a delicious treat for Ginger and the baby Pea Rexes.

(Ginger slurps) (Peas slurp) - That's the good stuff.

(Peas slurp) (chips crackle) (gentle orchestral music) (exciting music) - [Narrator] The Chillipede, fast on the feet, spicy on the tongue.

These little critters can be found almost anywhere in the valley.

They set up their base inside large mounds that act as a fortress to protect them from predators.

Before they go to sleep, they shed their excess body heat, which causes their skin to glow, creating a truly sensational sight.

(gentle orchestral music) (exciting music) - 'Scuse me, don't mind us.

- [Narrator] Water, it's the one thing in the valley that brings all the Vegesaurs together.

And Ginger has just jumped the queue.

(Ginger giggles nervously) Bananaraptors, they're hungry and particularly vicious when they're out in the open.

(bird squeals) (Vegesaurs growl) (water splashing) - Mm.

Huh?

Where did everyone go?

(Ginger gasps) (Bananaraptors growling) (Ginger squeals) (dramatic pursuit music) (Bananaraptors panting) (Ginger panting) (dramatic pursuit music) (Ginger panting) (Bananaraptors groaning) Phew.

(metal clinks) Huh?

(Cornasaurolophus whimpers) - [Narrator] It's a Cornasaurolophus.

It has become separated from its herd.

When a Cornasaurolophus feels threatened or frightened, it sheds kernels, which creates the smell of freshly-popped corn.

- You've got nothing to fear.

(Cornasaurolophus whimpers) But let's just get rid of these before the irresistible smell attracts the wrong attention.

(Cornasaurolophus whimpers in agreement) (popcorn crunching) (Pea-Rexes chewing) (popcorn pops) (Cornasaurolophus whimpers) (Bananaraptors laugh maliciously) Hmm.

Let's play Sit Down, Close Your Eyes, and Don't Move.

(Cornasaurolophus groans) (Bananaraptors laugh maliciously) Whew.

(Cornasaurolophus mumbles in denial) Good.

Let's get you back to your herd.

Minty, Split, Wasabi, keep your eyes peeled, and no sudden movements.

That would startle our new friend.

- [Narrator] If the Cornasaurolophus continues popping, Ginger and the Peas are in danger of ending up as snacks themselves.
