(applause) Tonight, we are not only ringing in the New Year, but we are affirming our commitment as Americans to come together through the exceptional power of the arts.
This incredible country of ours is as diverse as it is wide, but let it be said, we hold much more in common than what makes us different.
It is with that in mind that we come together through the arts tonight.
From pop and country to classical, jazz to ballet, Broadway to opera, we are celebrating this New Year with an incredible line-up of performances.
