FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, I'’VE BEEN GLIDING DOWN THE STREETS ON MY BIKE, FEELING THE WIND IN MY HAIR, THE SUN ON MY CHEEKS, AND ANGRY DRIVERS AT THE BACK OF MY HEAD.
BUT NOW THAT'’S GONE, AND SO TO IS MY ENTHUSIASM.
LIKE SO MANY OTHER BEASTS, I MUST NOW TRAVEL BY CAR, AND IT'’S DISAPPOINTING.
MY MIND IS RIDDLED WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT MY NEW LIFE.
WHERE WILL I GET MY MID-DAY EXERCISE?
HOW WILL I RETURN TO A LIFE OF LOOKING FOR PARKING?
HOW MUCH IS GAS NOW?
LAST TIME I CHECKED, IT WAS THREE DOLLARS.
SURELY, IT'’S COME DOWN BY NOW.
YOU KNOW, DESPITE ALL THE DISAPPOINTMENT, THERE ARE THINGS I'’M EXCITED ABOUT.
LIKE I'’LL NO LONGER HAVE HELMET HAIR.
I CAN TRAVEL IN THE RAIN.
AND IF I HIT A POTHOLE, I'’M A LOT LESS LIKELY TO END UP IN THE HOSPITAL.
I'’M REALLY GONNA MISS MY BIKE.
FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, I WOULD START MY DAY BY JUMPING ON MY SPECIALIZED ROCKHOPPER AND RIDING INTO THE SUNLIGHT.
BUT NOW THOSE DAYS ARE OVER.
THIS WILL BE THE LAST WEEK I RIDE MY BIKE.
SO IF YOU SEE ME, PLEASE KNOW I'’M HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE, AND DO ME THE FAVOR OF GIVING ME THE RIGHT OF WAY BECAUSE I LIKELY WON'’T BE ABLE TO CUT YOU OFF FOR ANOTHER SEVEN MONTHS.
