Set in rural Appalachia, Mr. Rash's new book centers on a retiring sheriff struggling with the ravages of crystal meth abuse in his small town, & a park ranger with a harrowing past. As they are shaped by the mistakes & tragedies of their lives, they are drawn together by their love of the natural world. At the same time, they work to solve the mystery of who poisoned an area trout stream.
