[river rippling] [peaceful piano music] [birds chirping] - My name is Vivianette Ortiz, and I am the co-founder and executive director of Latinos Aventureros.
I live in Gastonia, North Carolina, and I am from Padilla, Puerto Rico.
[gravel crunching] My experience with the Three Waterfalls Trail is that it's awesome for all ages.
I bring my kiddos here.
We go swimming in the water and do some hiking.
When I have family or friends come from out of town, it's where I bring them.
It's my go-to place.
[river gushing] [peaceful music] Being able to go out onto the trails really helped me mentally and it also helped me physically, and it's just really exciting to get on these different types of trails and see every view is different.
[peaceful piano music] [branches crackling] When I first started going out to the trails, I noticed that there wasn't much diversity.
I didn't really see lots of Latinos out there.
And after doing a couple of group hikes, we decided that we would create Latinos Aventureros, a place where we can take people outdoor, not only Latinos, but anyone that would like to join us.
I invite you to go outside and discover the great trails that North Carolina has to offer.
Nature welcomes everyone.
[peaceful piano music] [birds chirping]
