Cold War Relics
From 1947-91, the United States fought a war with the former USSR, known as The Cold War. One of the greatest weapons never to be fired was the minuteman missile. These missile sites were scattered across western South Dakota and were all dismantled, with the exception of one, which is now part of the National Park System.
