They're sweet, they're disposition's good, they just love people and it's just based on love, they just love people and they're fine to do with.
- Very friendly.
They're easy to train and the llamas retain their training.
- [Speaker] The llamas are easy to work with.
- Easy to work with.
- You can get them to do almost anything.
- Almost anything.
'Cause the average person doesn't know what a llama even is.
They really don't know.
They don't know about llamas, wish they'd come out and learn.
- Learn more about llamas.
- Right.
- Everybody bow your partner.
- Well, square dancing seemed like a lot of fun because they can square dance with human partners so people get an introduction to llamas that never maybe would've been around llamas before.
- Circle left.
♪ It comes from Mississippi and down in Alabam ♪ ♪ Creeping like a fever all across the land ♪ ♪ You do a back ♪ - How exactly does a llama do-si-do?
- Well, they have their halter on, usually they have matching ribbons on that matches their partner.
- Oh, that's cute.
♪ Beat it with the drum ♪ ♪ Now we're home ♪ ♪ The heads will pass through and the partner trade ♪ ♪ When they get there ♪ ♪ The sides will pass through for me ♪ ♪ You do a partner trade there ♪ ♪ Can't you see ♪ ♪ You make a left hand turn ♪ - And I think the llamas enjoy it as much as we do.
- Oh, you think so?
- I'm sure they do.
♪ Back home ♪ ♪ Yeah, it can't be found ♪ ♪ When you get there ♪ ♪ Everybody say, whoa ♪ ♪ Now we'll do some more, you know ♪ ♪ Now the sides will pass through you ♪ ♪ Do a partner trade ♪ - Llama don't spit when they square dance, do they?
- Never.
No, I have never.
- I mean, that's bad square dance etiquette.
- That would be, yes, that would be bad.
♪ To the left you go ♪ ♪ All the way around till I say whoa ♪ ♪ You do a backtrack ♪ ♪ Now do it here ♪ ♪ Everybody go back home ♪ ♪ It's near ♪ ♪ Now, when you get home, everybody face in ♪ ♪ Then you're gonna bow to the one straight across from you ♪ - You know, I've actually squared dance with a few girls that were not as pretty as llamas.
(Bea laughing) - Trade to face your corner, bow of your corner, bow to your right hand lady.
- How did you react the first time that they called you up and said, "We'd like you to call a square dance with llamas?"
- Well, my reaction was, I thought it was a club of people and I said, "Sure, I can do that."
And then she said, that was Bea talking, she said, "You know, this is animals, don't you?"
♪ Sides fast ♪ ♪ Do and do a partner trade ♪ ♪ Now, everybody circle left ♪ The only time we even would think of having a problem with a llama is a llama will let you know when it needs a break and, of course, we'll take a break for the llamas.
(water splashing) ♪ Beat it with a drum ♪ ♪ When you get there ♪ ♪ You'll face right back in son ♪ ♪ Head's'll pass through and do a partner trade ♪ ♪ Sides pass through and do a partner trade ♪ - [Host] Well, I'm gonna put you on the spot, who's a better partner, you're wife or a llama?
- Well, a llama.
Well, I don't know, a llama'll step on your feet once in a while, but they don't talk back.
(chuckling) You're partner always talks back.
(chuckling) ♪ And everybody look at that ♪ ♪ The head's'll pass through here ♪ ♪ Prominade home ♪ - Are you can go through different fads?
Like I know there was the disco fad, then there was that slam dance fad.
I mean, are you gonna change your dance?
- It's possible.
We might.
Right now we're having great fun with square dancing, but no reason we couldn't teach 'em some other steps.
♪ Face your partner and bow ♪ - All right.
