In a temple nestled among the rice fields in rural Japan, Zen Buddhist monk Ittetsu Nemoto is devoted to his life’s work: preventing suicides. He does anything to help them rediscover their will to live. But Nemoto's work begins to take a toll on his family and health, and he must learn to draw the line between his patients and his own life.
